There is a difference between being a hobbiest, and keeping your fish, and having a short term infatuation.

I see lots of folks here saying it is the joy of raising your loach, how long have each of you had your current loaches? My group of 7, I have had a little over 5 years.

I have a total of 9. I've had 2 for over 5 years and 5 others for about 4 years. I added 3 others 2-3 years ago, but did loose one of them.

wow! how long have you had theses? do your cl's ever lay upside down like they are dead?
5 years. Bought some of them half grown though. And yeah even the big ones sometimes play dead. Unfortunately had to give them up due to moving back to oz. I´ve had to start from scratch again... mind you I cheated on the last couple. see link if you´re interested.

Nice clowns! The satisfaction from growing them out makes them all the more special fish. Takes a dedicated fishkeeper and lotsa patience to grow out a group of nice CLs. I'm working on it... 2.5 years now and they've gotten 5". One recent 2" addition to bump the school up to 6.
Thx. Know what you mean about the waiting. Wish I could have brought the school back to oz with me. :(

^^ DAMN! someone should start a "Largest Loaches" thread. those are the biggest cl's i've ever seen..

My Loaches have had me for about a year now. Unfortunately I had lots of learning mistakes to get to the six I have now. My largest is about 4-5 inches, and comes up to the glass to say hi when I sit down in front of my tank. Plan on having many more once the 220 is set up.
