Why does my tank smell soooo bad???

I have 1 fish in a 20G Long... Its a growout tank for my EBJD... it is still under 2 inches but the water smells like rotten puppy dog breath

IDK what the problem is... I have a filter on it that does over 10x turnover per hour so filtration is NOT the problem... Any inquirees???

It isnt planted and its substrate is PF sand...

I have 3 tanks in my room

1 55, a 20G, and a 20 Long...

the only one that smells bad is the 20 long and it stinks up the whole end of the house my room is on!!!!!!!!

please help

When was the last time you did a water change? Is there a possibility that there is a dead fish/plant in it? Maybe you overfeed?

When was the tank set up? If possible check your water parameters.

waterchange was yesterday.. did 25%

not dead fish... nor plants =/

Maybe overfeeding but I feed the same to my EBJD in the other 20 and it doesnt stink

I was gonna say it might be WHAT you feed, but if you feed the same thing to your other tank, that can't be the problem. Hmmm....

I can check the params really wuick if you would like but the last time I checked they were right where they needed to be

and a month maybe a month and a half???? IDK

well, I feed tropical flakes, some cichlid pellet things from hikari... and I have many other foods but they arent big enough to eat those yet so i think so far thats all they have been fed..

kinda sorta... maybe stagnant water???

It smelt like puppy dog breath at first, but now it smells rotten so yes, about like rotten eggs

It has been stinking for about 2 weeks now, should I change out the filter pads???

I smelt them and theyre are like.... terrible
