to people who have quit the hobby, whyd you quit?

and since you came back ( clearly if your still on here) maybe other people in similar situations will decide to hang tough and stay in the hobby

i've lost the love of fishkeeping, the hobby the full lot so much so i even quit working here.
i still hang around here every now and then but it's just not the same for me now. i still have a tank set up and clean and feed the fish but i could not care less if i sold up or not. once they do go i will never get any fish again and will probably slowly stop visiting here.

I left the hobby simply because of my job....I love working on aircraft's/drones/UAV's/etc.
With out money, there is no hobby. The job I have consist of me traveling a lot, so no time to enjoy the sight of them growing up. Will I come back? Maybe, maybe not. It will all depend on what "Fish Craze" is in style when i decide when to come back into the game. Fish keeping is a hobby that I loved for a long time.

Why am I still on MFK? It's better then MySpace, FaceBook, etc.....

browsed more sections when fish were alive. all fish went to hello and only posted in the lounge for the longest time. thats why i dont have 1000 post.
fish are actually cool again and now browse more sections like the past.

I dropped out of the hobby for around 5 months due to moving...... and i found myself going days without mfk or even thinking about the fish, now with my green terror and delhezi,,,, i am hooked eternally.... hopefully....

I'm down to 2 tanks, and only post in the lounge. I only post here when super bored, even. It's not that I don't love fishkeeping, I just don't have the time for it. I won't get rid of my tanks (that's what attics are for!), so maybe when I'm out of school and have a steady job I'll get back into it.

i havent quit but im sick of running 8 tanks wanna get rid of all but my large tank and just focus on that

I went from 26 tanks and 300 fish down to 1 tank with 5 fish(being my lowest), but in the last year and half I've regained my interest but on a limited budget and working space.

Not having enough time and a general burnout was the reason for my fall.

I had 56 tanks at one time but have been slowly breaking them down. A month ago i still had 44 running, but now only 2. So im almost ready for the big move on Jan. 4th. I wouldnt say im out of the hobby by any means, just going to keep the tanks to a more manageable level.

Had to pack up and go to college halfway round the world. Left my parents in charge of running three tanks. Needless to say none survived. That was ten years ago. I'm back now!
