Why is everything good in SoCal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
SOCAL can be good for a buyer but the other way around is if you are the seller you have to give your stuff away praticaly almost for free since everybody expects a super deal around here. Often times you buy a fish small grow it out and than sell it for the same price that you bought it or cheaper even though it's 3x the size.

I hear ya man, I'm just saying be glad you're not stuck down in KY or somewhere...

And if you're a little patient, and are will to put in request, there are some nationally known fish distributors based here in NJ: SharkAquarium and Jeff Rapps to name 2.

Jeff rapps is in nj!!!? I need to go to see his place! **************** or some other website is like 10 minutes away from me. Shark aquariums is only 20 minutes away and I need to find Jeff rapps!

DUDE, Norcal SUCKS!!! there's nothing here and my parents are extreme conservatives.. that means no driving down to Socal! :( craigslist is really budding with good deals but my parents refuse to accept they can get a used tank for 50$ instead they make me spend MY money on a new one for triple the cost! i don't get allowance either. that's not a problem with me but its the idea that i'm not even allowed to spend my hard-earned money. there's a couple decent fish stores too but id like more :drools: PS i would hate being in Hawaii as well.

 I cannot help but ask, why is almost every single MFKer selling something from SoCal? I want to move to SoCal just for the constant MFK deals! There is nothing good in jersey :(. Stupid jersey shore ruined everything! Lol but is there a reason why all MFKers are in cali? Why don't you guys come to jersey with me?

I sold my 110 tank, stand, glass tops, 2 jebo filters full of media and lights for 100 bucks. And sold 180 tank and stan, glass tops and lights for 100 bucks.

Sure i paid a little more for them when u just wanna get rid of stuff there's always someone looking to buy

And there's a lot of bans but that doesn't stop anyone from getting anything, just sayin

Doubt its a good idea but I just got an idea! Okay so if I find an extremely cheap fish tank in SoCal then get it shipped to me as cheap as possible then would I still save? Don't steal my idea lol

Our Weather, Our Women and Our Herb ..... oh wait this is a fishkeeping thread.

Southern California is the place to be because it's a buyers market. Mix that in with the asian community and nice amount of people with $$$$ to burn. I do envy the fact that other states Fishkeeping communities seem like they are more welcoming to newbies. Where here we seem to have alot of folks who tend to keep to their inner circle.

Just my two cents
