tank was 77-78F and live from 78-86F the last 4 years of its life with no prob but guess it just took too much out of him. I cut him open and all too and didn't find anything. Not sure why which sucks...

Sorry for the loss. Could it be the same reason many have loss Chinese Perches in the past. That when they reach a certain size they will require a colder environment. Everyone that I have spoken to that bought a Chinese Perch from me in the past had said that when they're perch was under 15" it seemed to be find in warmer waters, yet soon as it got bigger it just died all of a sudden? Reason they wanted to buy another so they could raise it in a colder environment.
