I agree, but there's a slight difference between "heads up mate, your fish will out grow your tank in x amount of time" and "GET A BIGGER TANK RIGHT NOW OR GET LOST!" The first is helpful, the other may cause people to get offended and not come back, which only takes away from the knowledge we have here. If that makes sense?

what i used to do was impulse buy to a certain degree because i had an lfs that would take practically any trade for credit so i was lucky

i bought an rtc for my 110g and as it grew too big i took it to that lfs and got supplies for it. when i had a fish i couldn't sell on here, i knew the lfs would take it for a trade for fish or supplies

same here. I do the exact same thing.....raise 'em up to be big and strong, and a LFS gives me good $$$ for them. He loooooooves when I bring him fish lololol

or maybe the old crowd was just more fun than this new one

It was much more fun like 10 years ago.
Members were actually having meets and 10-15 of us would show up and have a BBQ and a good time.

It was fun even 3-5 years ago. There was a true sense of community here, like people were actually here as friends with others we've never met

Not so much a side splitter, but I giggled for a lot longer than I should of. Not sure why, maybe I was just extremely tired like I am now. I duno exactly.

Why the lack of entertaining discussion? What do you guys think that is?

The lounge used to be poppin. I remember the days of anticipation logging on. When there was always something going on, always a discussion to join in. Is this it for the lounge?

I don't know if its the "old farts", seems to be more kids posting on here than ever. IDK

Hi guys!! Not sure how old this is or not, but I thought I would jump on here. I have been on and off this site for a very long time to different degrees of activity. And the last few times I have jumped on it has been dead. very low response rates to post, less people buying/selling fish etc.

I am not a moderator on here or anything like that but IMO I would really encourage people to answer the posts/questions and not just push people to search. I find it so confusing that there are so many posts that end with someone saying to search etc.... Technically everything can be found by searching, but people are on forums to get live feedback and have that sense of community and in return they will want to respond.

I completely agree. I have seen a lot of members responding to posts just saying to search providing no information or help. I have even seen staff members who shall remain nameless closing threads saying to search instead.
