Why Is It So Taboo For Someone Telling How Much They Bought A Fish For.

A few reasons off the top of my head. 1) People might be embarassed by the amount they spent on a fish. 2) They might want people to admire their fish for its awesomeness and not its price tag. 3) It can accidently sound like bragging when talking about spending so much on a fish and people want to remain modest. 4) Not really anyone elses business besides the buyer and seller.

In my experience, people who are so eager and open about the prices they pay are usually lying in order to hide how much they actually paid. The way you can tell who is lying is to ask them for topless pics of their wife. If they comply, they are open and honest and are most likely telling the truth. If they wont, then you know that theyre not sharing the true amount they paid.

Except asking for a dollar amount in text is nothing at all like asking for pictures of another mans wife... totally different in every regards. One is curiousity, one is perverted and offensive.

I understand where you're coming from: finances = part of your private life, but the wife thing is a poor way to say that...

I think it depends on the individual, some folks think topless wife pics are no big deal but personal finances are top secret.

To me its no different than asking to see topless pics of my wife. Some things are just private.

haha, on a more serious note, some people would have no prob giving out pics of their topless wife...the same man may be secretive about how much he paid for said fish though

I find that hard to believe since you have mentioned the whole topless wife pics thing multiple times in this thread. Either that or you have no wife and you want some topless wife pix from some other members....good luck, it's gonna be as hard to come by as pricing on their fish.
