Research will almost always answer the question of "value" of a certain fish. If you are really wanting one, and really want to know how much one would cost you I feel like you'd be better served by asking a vendor. Then look around to see if the price is right for you. Sometimes I feel funny about it.
I know sometimes the price is a shock to people, and Im not one that wants to crush the idea of a particular fish for someone. People will see a picture of a fish, and ask the price, even in PM, and they are thinking of a figure, then they find out that the fish cost $900. Not the $50 that they had in mind. Then they think there's something wrong with you for spending so much.
I know Im not making it very clear, but there are reasons that it bothers me when people ask. Does it seem like the price question only comes up with high dollar fish? When I kept silvers, and RTC's no one ever asked me "how much?"
