Where Palm Trees Grow
I recently received a Red Texas fry that I ordered 3 days ago and he has not stopped heavily breathing ever since, My water has plenty of aeration and the water parameters are fine, Temp is 78 and my water is pretty clean. He is housed with one American Datnoid and 5 Silver Dollars. I anything stressing him out? He is opening and closing his mouth very fast and opening and closing his gills rapidly as well. He has been swimming around normally and is eating Blood Worms fine I just don't understand what's wrong with him  I really would appreciate some help!!! :nilly: :nilly: :nilly:

Edit: Oh and he is about 3"

it may be the other fish, he was housed with only the other RT growouts at my house. also, he was on a diet of slow sinking growth pellets from kensfish.com and frozen blood worms as well.

I also had my tank temps set at 82 to 84deg.

Hope this helps!!

Ok so maybe he just needs to get used to his new tank mates? I also had read that they like colder water at about 78 degrees so thats why I set it at that. I fed him some FD Blood worms the other day and he seemed to enjoy them.

I mean clean as in no feces floating around, I took a water sample to my LFS since I did not want to buy a test kit and he told me the Parameters were fine I just forgot what he told me exactly. The tank is a 55g right now for him to grow into a 125g.

could be getting picked on.

My little American datnoid is scared crap less by him after being the biggest one in the tank until now, And the SD's are very peaceful and I never see anybody picking on him.
