My little American datnoid is scared crap less by him after being the biggest one in the tank until now, And the SD's are very peaceful and I never see anybody picking on him.

Have you sat down and jsut watched him from a distance? if so, did his breathing slow down at all? he could be scared of you, so he would be breathing hard.
i still would buy my own test kit so i could test the water myself.
Does he have any hiding spots? Is there a lot of activity around the tank?

I know I just have not gone around to buy a test kit but I will soon. There is a large piece of driftwood in the middle of the tank and some random plastic river plants throughout the rest of the tank. The Silver Dollars school up and down the tank occasionally but normally stay tight together on one side of the tank, When I enter the room the Dat is a pig so he chases me around the tank begging for more shrimp as normal even after he is fed. I have not sat and watched him from a distance but I will go do that right now.

I just sat down and watched him from a distance and he did not seem to slow down breathing, He also started nipping on the silver dollars a bit. Oh and I forgot to mention he is also housed with a Pink Tail Chalceus. He is also in his fading period if that has anything to do with it. Other than that he seems to be swimming around normally like my other cichlids I owned used to do.

i don't think it has anything to do with acclimating.
OP- do you mean you got him today or 3 days ago?

i don't know if it would last days, but a lack of acclimation is known to cause deep breathing...

^ which is caused from poor or no acclimation or poor water right? :D

But I never have quarantined my fish when adding them to the tank and this has never happened and the fish seems fine...

Not all fish will react the same, even when under the exact same conditions.
