Bump the filtration (if the tank is cycled then the filter doesn't need to be) and up the water changes, if it is an algae or bacterial bloom, check out an appropriately sized UV as mentioned above; you'll have to fix the underlying issue as well.
No need for adding an chemicals (except conditioner for water changes) or using RO water unless you've got serious water problems.
If the tank is getting direct sunlight then an algae bloom may be your problem.
