I've heard from many fish keepers that think Knives are boring:p I want them to know that Knives aren't boring...What makes a Knife Fish so interesting to you?

I would like to get a BGK, I just like the way that they move personally thats all i can think of lol, so looks cool when it swims around lol

I don't keep them, but have always liked their look as well... but on the other hand.. I always look for big personality also.. so if no one really has any experience with them being for more than just for looks.. I probably will not get one in the future... don't get me wrong, I just perfer to have a big personality fish...

I love the Featherback Knifefish because of there ancient cool look. :)

i love my BGK, he is always doing interesting things, like doing barrel rolls under his slate during the day and poking his head out during feeding time for the other fish trying to grab a flake or other food as it comes by his cave, his interactions with other fish is fun to watch also. I almost have him to the point of eating from my hand and he is only about 3.5" long

there fin movement and the different directions they move so quickly.also my CK has the most personality of any fish i have.

I think alot of people just don't want to spend the time ot learn what it takes to keep Knives happy. I've yet to find only a few species ( and these aren't often run into commonly at LFS) that have no personality or spend all they're time hideing. I've found this same mentality with spiney eels and most people. When In retrospect these are also 2 of the most intelligent fish species/types I've run into.

Knives are fish that you need to take abit of time to train/bond with to really get them to come out of their shells. CK's are probably the most "ot there" species I've run into haveing both impressive sizes and personalities. BGK's are just flat out cool, with their quirky playful natures. One of the most curiouse species I've come across. aba aba/carpos/ect are some of the most ruthless predetors in the FW world pound for pound. I don't understand why hobbyists don't like these fish as there is one for just about any type of tank.

very mis-understood fish I htink as a whole. They actually pay attention to the predetor lurking outside the glass.
