The internal problems can start becoming apparent with growth . The spinal issue can get more severe with growth as well. Keep her if she's healthy and you like her but yea you don't want to breed her. I just recommend strict deformity culling with shortbodies. There is alot to look out for but its worth it when you see a healthy adult sb.
If I'm breeding for expressed traits in my hybrid projects the fish that don't express the traits I'm after are culled, and that's just the way it is. You can breed 2 mp fh and will still end up with some less desirable fish. Oddballs are cool but I don't want to sell lesser quality fish.
I have saved a few nice color pearly runts from a few spawns and stocked a relative's tank with them lol.
Yeah... your last sentence in the first paragraph is very true and I can say you and Izzy both have(or have had) quality short bodies. Thanks for the input.
Internal problems have shown up pretty quick in the batch of fry im on within a couple of weeks I was noticing extreme bloating through out the fry no matter how much I fed but eventually all that had problems died out and I had no more issues of that nature with the rest of the fry since

Thank you for that also. I have never experienced bloat... I have to ask what were you breeding and what were they eating?
