Why polys are addicting??

I've always liked oddballs but didn't know much about polys, then one day I was reading and saw that they could breathe atmospheric oxygen. After that I was intrigued and did more digging, finding out they were prehistoric. So I went and bought a Sen and loved him, and I was hooked. Now I have 11 lol

thats why I like this forum it just feels like a bunch of friends hanging out talking about stuff they love
Still not sure why. I bought one to try from my poly pusher and keep coming back for more.
What advice would you give someone who desperately wants a Senegal? I have a 120g 5 foot tank with 2 Oscars and 3 silver dollars and one female convict. I live in Oklahoma and have wanted a poly for like forever. I know I can't have any fancies, but I love and adore the look of these guys! Any advice, about feeding, things to watch out for, or vids of Senegals, would be most welcome from you experienced guys. I want to give one of these amazing fish the best home I can.
First advice will be tankmates, silver dollars can stay but the oscar need to be seperate. Oscar grows faster that senegal, the senegal will be a meal.
For feeding, night time works best, senegal are not really picky when it comes to eating they will eat with lights off and lights on, but polys are noctural so they usually eat during lights off, and it will be better cause of the tankmates might eat the food before it hits the bottom of the tank.
Food type, frozen tilapia fillet and sinking carnivore pellets are good.
Im not sure about it but some sen can stay at 5" some will grow 12", idk how big a oscar grows but when i had them they will eat anything, divider might work.
You can buy one sen and a pair or three is way better, but im going to give you a warning now, bichirs are addicting
