You must not keep up with the news...

A couple years ago, the Government of Iraq (going against US pressure) decided not to allow the "Oil Companies" to purchase the oil fields from Iraq. Instead, the Iraqi Government will contain control and sell the oil directly to the world market.

see and thats why were blind.....

I haven;t heard anything about the US Government owning oil fields. I do know that Iraq has granted leases to the BIG Oil Companies (remember they are international companies, NOT US companies).

I agree that Government can be cut back, but it's NOT a government monopoly. Government should and always have the right to regulate commerce. That is NOT a monopoly! Government makes the rules, companies have the abide by them (a couple companies that control their market, DON'T follow the rules and have heavy influence on political figures, that's a monopoly!) BRING BACK SHERMAN ANTI-TRUST! BREAK THEM UP!

^^^especally oil companys..thats what america runs on....
another thing i dont undertsand is why, when i was stationed in germany FORD had about 12 electric/gas hybrid cars there, and only 2 in the u.s.??????
idk its like if u did the research ud b pretty upset with our country compared to others considering were the most powerful, of corse unless we dont get our oil from another...

andthen again the whole subject of this thread was based off a leaking oilk tanker which i was wrong about, butwhy the hell would we have to pay for bp drilling and spilling, thats there fault and they should pay with there ceos and execs bonuses which are prolly in the $25,000 range

we will see in the next cpl weeks, lemme know how much gas is in nowhere ville an ill let u kno the same,
cuz the public is gunna take the brunt, just like we did wiht the banks but the banks dont want to postpone any foreclosures on housing for us ppl after we kept them out of debt,,,Real fair right

Why?

The same reason a crapload of your tax money went to help Haiti.
So, Barry Obama can feel good about himself. In his mind he is a god, we are just mere mortals who have no say in how our tax money is spent.

ok, gas right now is kinda where I expected(20 cent cheaper then yours) to be, gas will never be cheap again its the middle easts imperative to milk us for all the money they can before everybody begins to seriously transition away from gas.

Yeah right!

We have more than enough oil in Alaska to sustain our country.
Why are we not tapping into it?

Because the corrupt bankers control our whole economy. They get rich along with the Saudis from stealing our money and controlling us.
They want to keep our gas prices high, because they know we need it and will buy it even if $5-6/gallon.
