Monster fish are much more thrilling than small fish, but still small fish are nice... I don't know, it depends on the person, the money and the space :grinyes:

great point. i would love to do a nano reef tank, with some amazon plants, and a few neon tetras. lil fish are awsome in little tanks, when i had a big 65 gal community tank, the lil neons where lost in the nunderbrush of the more active fish... hmm it might of also been that clown knife in there. i always thought he looked suspisious.

monsterfishes are more interesting to watch at feeding time than guppies. Feeding time is the best about this hobby. :headbang2

HERE HERE! I love the monsters at feeding time! The thing that got me really boosted into the monsters was working in the fish room at my LFS! I loved going around and watching the fish feed! One of my favorites was a clown trigger we had, he would take on crayfish and just chow down on any goldfish we put in there! and same with the aros and sting ray! The store got me intrested, this site honed my love for particulars.

I wish I could say, but I have never had any monsters - just africans. My friend had arows and snakehead and they are cool to feed. Just my 2 cents.

I have the tank I just dont know what to stock it with. I need to do some research.

There are big monsters like aros and gars, there are monster eaters like puffers, there are monster aggressives like cichlids, there are monster behaviors like archers spitting. There are so many things that you could consider monster. I fed some daphnia to some tetras today, and wow that is fun to watch.

Very True ! Its not necessarily about size. It could well be the attitude of the fish.

I'm afraid with me, it's about the fish's size. My eyes aren't what they used to be. I can't see guppies, tetras, etc anymore.

And to quote Rodney Dangerfield: "Hey, I hate small food, you know?" I like feeding manly chunks instead of dainty sprinkles of food.

your right small fisn are nice my rtc loves them:ROFL:

of all my mini monsters, my small figure 8 has the baddest additude and has killed more fish than anything else in the tank. and everything except feeders has been atleast twice his size. i love his additude. i also love watching my archer eat crickets. today i fed him crickets and accidently added too many into the water and he was swimming around with it stuck in his mouth because he wasn't going to let the extra cricket go. I also love my dat. I just got him a week ago and he has been hiding the entire time but when my Green Chromide went after him, he stood his ground and showed the green who was the boss. Now he is out because there are feeder guppies in the tank and he loves them.

I don't remember who said it, but they are right. Watching guppies being fed is boring. BUT Watching guppies being fed to something else is pretty damn sweet if you ask me.
