My mono and oscar decided to stop eating when i added a new tem. iv been feeding them massivore only for the past 6months. I feed once every other day if i feed them more than that they just spit out the pellets. but now the oscar will barly eat and the 19in mono doesnt even look at me when i come to the glass to feed them. So i tried to feed them live and the 19inch mono only ate one goldfish. The tem is fine and eats massivore well. This worries me because iv seen this before and it led to the death of all my fish. How ever in this current case thier poop is not white and stringy.

any suggestions??

Thanks guys

I assume You have already checked your water all the way around that being said depending on how long this has been going on the poop is not stringy yet you say ..So i would take some action now and start looking on the net or at a feed store for vermosil ..It was suggested to me by Hillbilly another member on here with loads of Discus exp ..He suggests that is the only thing that will ridd internal parisites ..Alot of guys recomend Prazi also but Hillbilly gave me the impresion that prazi pro only gets rid of gill flukes and worms not ALL internall parisites!!!Now i have not had occasion to use it yet i stress yet because eventually i am sure i will have to because i do feed live regularly,,,I tend to listen to guys that have alot of exp with discus because they are very sensative and not just anybody can keep and breed them with ease. One more thing he also said when treating with vermosil they with stop eating for a few days witch is normal .And one more thing i am not sure if i spelt it right could be vermasil or vermosil.....check it out ....Hope this helps would hate for ya to loose a nineteen inch P:(Hugh...

Good luck! And thanks for posting that tip Hulon, I will have to save that in my memory in case I ever do need it

thanks alot def gonna have to try this. Im just afraid its going to hurt the tem which currently doesnt have a problem eating. and does vermosil kill biofiltration?

Thanks guys

Ah a couple days of no eating won;t hurt your tem as much as possably getting internal parasites for sure ......iif thats what you got going on...

This is what i use on my discus, regardless of whether or not they have the stringy white poop. it usually works in 3 days. basicaly i use this treatment when my discus chew food, spit it out, and the food is still there after 1hour and this occurs longer than 3days.

link to the product i use:
http://www.google.com/products/cata...og_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCEQ8wIwAA#

The main chemical here is metronidazole just use the product as labeled.
What helps is raising the temp up to about 85F for the metro to work best.
I think your fish should be ok in 85F for 3 days since they are tropical fish.

some people also soak the food in a bath of metro to help (but its kinda hard when the fish arent eatin!- so it never worked for me that way haha)

No, it will not kill your bio.

Metro works well for certain protozoan caused diseases like Hex, (the most common discus problem) and will treat ick as well, but that's about it. It won't deworm your fish.

how much do i need for a 300gallon tank i cant find to much info on that jungle stuff
For a 100g bottle of Vermisol, add 3oz of RO or bottled water, shake the bottle well to mix, add 1/2 teaspoon of the mixture per 20 gal. of tank water for 24 hours. Do a heavy water change before, and after treatment. You can store the mixture in the fridge. May cloud your water, but will clear up after a couple of water changes.

Just something to think about when treating fish:
PraziPro will treat gill flukes and tapeworm.
Metro will treat protozoan based diseases.
Vermisol is to be used to "deworm" fish (nematodes), which are most parasites that are found in the gut.
