Just something to think about when treating fish:
PraziPro will treat gill flukes and tapeworm.
Metro will treat protozoan based diseases.
Vermisol is to be used to "deworm" fish (nematodes), which are most parasites that are found in the gut.
Nice HIllBilly the more info the better so many just won't listen or will not change thier ways always gotta be willing to change and try new things different things and put to use ones that work and discard the ones that don't.....

thanks for the awsome info. ordered some vermisol. i do have planaria in my tank. Will the vermisol kill that? Is planaria a type of nematode? btw ive had planaria for about 9months if that could have caused it.

It could kill it. It's not my intent to offend you, but Planaria grows and feeds on excessive wastes in the tank. With better tank hygiene, and tank maintenance, the problem will go away. Planaria themselves are not harmful to your fish.

no offence taken the tank is in very good condition nitrate below 10ppm (auto water changer) but i do not vacum out chewed pieces of food. I do however remove full pelets. theres def less planaria than there was when the fish were in the 125.

Yeah, that makes sense. They no doubt feed on the little bits as they dissolve, and also on fish waste, fish slime that builds on tank walls and decor. Possibly the stuff that gets trapped under tank decor, or in substrate as well. A good siphoning of the bottom between water changes would probably help a good deal, as well as occasionally wiping down tank walls during water changes. Sometimes it's the little things that really make a difference.

Ok so the vermosil is on its way. I got the 19in pbass to eat for the past two days mabye 30-40 pellets total, the oscar was eating, and the tem was going crazy. So far the tem seems fine and has ajusted to his new home very well. So the situation isnt dire. im begining to think they stopped eating just because. However im still going to treat the tank just incase.

Sounds good. If all fish are now eating, I would hold off on any treatments, and see how it goes. The vermosil will keep indefinitely if kept sealed and unopened. Give your fish a few weeks to adjust before doing anything. I see no point in stressing fish by treating them if its not necessary. Stress is the major cause of problems in all fish, as it weakens the immune system, and this is what allows parasites to gain a foothold in the first place.

so now i have a new problem there is what looks like a white cotton like fungus growing on the large basses head. It started growing after i jacked the temp up to 85. The temp change occured over 2days. The only fish with the fungus is the large mono. The tem and oscar dont have it. ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrate 5ppm, PH 6.6. i see nothing wrong with the water. Any ideas on what it is and how to cure it.

Thanks

was there a wound first? i have used pimafix with good results on fungis melifix for damage and cloud eye ...Possable bacteria infection tho if it was a wound first in that case a good antibiotic will work ..Was there fighting going on did you recently put the tem in and fighting was going on can't remember if you said or not ....this could have been what was going on with the light feeding in the first place ....

The easiest way to deal with fungal infections on fish, is to catch it, and with a Q-tip, dab Malachite Green directly on the infected area. Should clear right up.
