now we have burnt out the xback thing :D

lets talk about reds super red chili red and blood reds

someone has stated they can get super reds for $800 in another thread

we are also seeing some £800 reds

if all the above coments are anything to go on the cheap reds must be complete junk

OR

is the aro market crashing

Here in Canada price have drop down. Just about 2 years ago when 6-8 inches SRs goes up to $1600-$2000 for private dealer while LFS sells them for $8000 to get more profit. Now prices for a 6" is around $800-$1000. Also different farms have different price tag on their aros which can lead to varied prices. I won't say that cheaper red are complete junk but its the farm who decide what price they want to put to that aro. Just like most Indonesian aro farms are more cheaper than those in Singapore and they both can have high quality fish. With high demands of aros here and plenty of farms to pick from. When you do lots of order from that certain farm, then that certain farm will most likely not let go if you. They will continue to do business and of course they will even lower the price to meet the customers demands.

have you seen what a $800 looks like after 2 years ?

You know that it takes at least 4 years for an arowana, whether gold or red, to fully develop its color, right? You can't really judge an arowana in 2 years, especially the $800 :grinno:

Yes I've seen them and in my opinion they look better than the aros that we used to buy from a different farms that cost $1600-$2000 (Singapore). If you really want to find out get a SR that's $800 from that Farm I told you, as $800 won't hurt anyway if you won't like the result. It's kinda pointless writing without really experiencing it.

I also have to agree with jlnguyen74. If you wanna see your aros full potential wait after 3-4 years.

You can actually talk to Hendri Leong as he been around different arowana farms.

I know quality matches the price of most aros but to make a customer happy you have to drop the price as well.

If you do bussiness with a person who order a lot of arowanas every season of the year (30-50+ aros every seasons due to high demands) you have to make that person happy by giving that person a reasonable price. By over charging because of the quality of the fish, then that person who's buying from that farmm will move on to other farm. You simply gain more profit when you sell 50+ 6-8" aros $800-$1000 than selling 6-10x 6-8" aros 2K-2.5K+ aros which most people won't be able to afford due to the economy today.

You can still find the same good at thrift store like at department store, except you have to look hard, and you have to know what to look for! ;)
