This reminds me of the time my ex-wife told me I couldn't drink beer anymore because we needed to save money and it wasn't in our budget. Then a few days later, I caught her spending $60 on makeup, and I confronted her about it. She said, "Well honey, I need the makeup so I can look pretty for you." I said, "What the hell do you think the beer was for?!?!"
:ROFL::ROFL:LOL.

LOL @ all these post, well my wife is the big baller of the house (money wise), but I have great negotiation skills.........called a bottle of vodka and watching a chick flick
While I might be able to do something with the vodka,or some other libation,I can't do the chick flicks,they'd put me right to sleep.

If I had known how it would be, I would have found a fish-loving girl. It hadn't occurred to me that she'd close the valve on fish $. Strategic error. Don't marry a woman who won't support your hobbies or you'll have to put up with whining every time you do anything.

LOL, this should be in the "man bible". She did not even notice until she just realized I have 5 tanks and keep talking about getting bigger and bigger. Should have kept my mouth shut!

I laugh out loud at all these posts. I am right there with the "it's not fair to put me on an allowance for my fish" ! My hubby doesn't understand my obsession and is not always forthcoming with money to buy stuff. However, whenever his Harley needs something we have the money and can spend it. I do have roll over and try to save but that isn't always easy. $60.00 is ok but $100.00 would be better :D makes it really easy to save for bigger purchases like light upgrades or that 900 gallon tank (:naughty:) you've always wanted. LOL

hahahahahaha wow

My wife was like that for a long time..then she fell in love with a clown knife at the LFS...when I told her out tank wasn't big enough...my budget suddenly became unlimited. I've spent in the neighbor hood of a 1000.00 just in the last month and there's still a long way to go.

Funny how that works.

Do what most of us do and flip tanks on CL, good deals, fixer upper kind of thing... That's how I pay for 90% of my stuff. Next thing every time you buy a bigger one sell a smaller one and get some cash back and let her see you do it too so she doesn't dred the sight of every new tank. Outside of utilities and gifts (wife bought me my 300g) I rarely use cash from the fam for the hobby. Just sayin...
