Why do they eat them ? Well, they're probably tasty. No animal is sacred everywhere.

It's also culture.. and probably no one ever gave them a valid reason not to..

and to that i say, doesnt it seem wrong to decide how an animal should live its last days based on its ability to have emotions/feelings? who are we to say that a dog should deserve proper treatment because it has feelings but a chicken, who cares! it doesnt understand emotion anyways so whats it matter. that to me seems just as evil. if youre gonna fight for the rights of animals that are treated inhumanely, then i think you should treat them equally. and with that, start the fight here at home, in the US where there are several animals that "dont have feelings" are kept inhumanely

No not really.. that is how we as a society indiviually basically decide life/death for animals. Does it have feelings? Ok kill it humanely.. Is it a spider or snake who probably doesn't have feelings? Squash it.. Shark and you only want the fins? Just cut them off and throw it back.. no biggie..

We'll never agree and this will only get more heated with me in it so I'll bow out. My point: No animal should really be treated like that. No animal should be tortured before they're killed. Think of yourself as that cat being pulled out of the cage. And I do hold my thoughts on how we should treat animals in higher disregard for some creatures because of intelligence factors. But we as a civilized society tend to do that.

Are hot dogs ethical?

You've again put words in my mouth with this statement.

You need to seriously stop putting words in peoples mouths. You seem like a relatively intelligent person, but assuming and "Filling in the blanks" doesn't do anything. And i've not seen a single person here actually say what you QUOTED. (A quote is meant to recall an exact WORD FOR WORD statement)

We keep them the cheapest, easiest way, to maximize profits and make money off our goods. It has NOTHING to do with it "Being Okay" to mistreat animals, it has to do with running a business.

It's cheaper to treat them like crap, and it's faster, and easier. It takes less space, you save money on food by not feeding them much. Etc etc... It's a business to them.


I'm going to say this once, pay attention Albel, you seem to have a little trouble in this category.

I do not advocate the eating of animals, but I do advocate waking the **** up, and realizing there is a different point of view then yours.

True vegetarians are not really healthy. Your body requires more then just veggies, more then just meat, etc etc. You need proper, balanced meals.

I've seen vids of what happens when the animals get to where they're killed, ever seen a dog skinned alive lying on the ground, still crying, so those idiots can have a pretty coat? For the people who have dogs, what if that was your dog? How would you like to see your dog skinned alive?
When people see or hear about the dogs and cats it's 'horrible..disgusting' but when I tell them about the raccoons and ect. who have the same fate it's "oh, well that's different"

All animals are equal, and vids like those make me wonder why peopel like that are alive, where the **** is their morale? Mercy? the things that makes us human.. I just don't know, I hope karma gets them.

i dont care how poor you are. respect the food you're eating. dont torture it before it dies so you can eat it.
we need to be more like the native americans and eskimos 100's of years ago and repsect the animals that we eat.
I dont care if they are chickens or labradors. the native americans respected this earth and everything on it. They werent vegetarians..that isnt the answer.

cutting out meat isnt the answer. but respecting that animal for giving its life for you and giving it a proper life before you kill it is the answer. thats the problem in this world. no respect.

and there is none in that video. those people seemed to enjoy beating those animals around and making them suffer. they dont deserve the meat on their plates at night. they deserve to starve if they act like that.

Agreed. IMHO I don't think it's right to get all emo about the dogs and not defend the cows.

I think all animals are equal, and I take that to lenghts that others dont. I see NO PROBLEM with them eating dogs and cats, fine, I choose to keep them as pets but im not on this earth to change minds and push my beliefs.

Now, I don't think that any animal should be inhumanely killed, or harmed in any way, be it a cow ready for "processing" or the aforementioned "Dog being skinned alive"

Nothing is more ignorant and close minded then saying "Well, you can't compare a dog and cow, they are for different things"...
