I definantly added a divider, went all the way to home depot before it was injured, but that female jumped over it to challenge the male.
It was not that my divider too low, but that female was a super jumper; when Ira tried to net the fish, it jumped over Ira's hand above the aquarium hood.

This is a very small area, and the collector may want to be an exclusive provider of this species for as long as possible. I see nothing wrong with that. Its business.
I just know that they all fall under one Carpinte category.. It would be important to know if I see the fish being much different like one proven to have bigger head or different color eyes or something, but not in this case.
If this is how the hobby will be then there will be plenty more variant names coming in the future.. Every couple miles to a diffenrent town with a diffent variant for you.. Then there's so much that it doesnt matter anymore.. hahahaha!!
in the variant pool, the Lahillas and the Escondidos are the farthest apart in look of pearls to me from what I've been shown . The rest look to fall in between includind these Vonts. But Vonts so far nearest to the Escondido in looks.. What else is different but the pearls? Arent they all from one water? dont know. Asking.. Cant they swim around? They cant just stay still in one place, wait to be caught and named after that location.. Can a Carpinte swim or drift from one location to another?

When Don called me he said Rusty had called him the day before. I'm not sure what info you think he was holding back. When I sent an e-mail to him, he responded that he didn't know. I didn't ask him to check. I said thanks and moved on. Apparently he did like any other curious aquarist and asked Don...as I did. He had no reason to rush to this forum to make a post. I never made it seem like a "life or death" type question. Rusty has always been extrememly helpful with any question I have ever had.
Re-read any of my posts. I simply stated that no one else was able to pin pint the location. I never doubted the providence...just wanted to educate myself on the fish. There's no controversy on my part. There never was. Just a simple question.

Its pointless to continue to snipe at each other on this forum, if questions need to be asked they should be directed to the persons with the answers and it should be done privately. I've stated that I will not respond on this forum to the attacks and intense scrutiny each fish that come from me is put under, the thread that was closed a few days ago made that obvious. This forum is not a court room and who else besides myself and Don are demanded to testify time after time by the same accusers? This thread started 9/25/09 and took over 4 months to get to this point and in the end the fish are F0 from vontehillo exactly as advertised. Trust and purchase from the vendors you have faith in but its obvious that DCT collected and sold this fish since last summer and even the experts named in this thread were unaware its existence, he never asked for any praise or recognition either. This hobby gets better everytime new variants are introduced and regardless of who introduces them. If there is any info you need please send me a pm.
For the record for me this is not a bash Don thing at all. I like and respect the guy tremendously. I just think the way the information was not disseminated by folks OTHER THAN Don was inappropriate. The same situation could have arisen with Rapps, Ken Davis, etc. and I would have asked the same questions. Most of my fish are from DCT and I speak with Don regularly and have been a big proponent of him on other forums. I always ask for details about collection points, he knows that. I'm happy we can now put this to bed and can enjoy a new variant to the hobby. No conspiracy here. Let's move forward.
Some members are derailing the thread, please do not attack people or claiming this thread as for 16 year old. Fish keeping is to make people happy not heart attacks.
If you want to order fish directly from Don, we don't mind just don't hurt the vendor in here. Your words are directed toward Ira.
