Wild caught discus after 2 months

amazing tank! I used to keep discus at 85 from what I had read back in the day temps lower than 84/85 they are more stressed/disease prone.

One thing that I would consider doing for your tank to grab a group (probably like 4) true siamese algae eaters and (after quarantine) put them in there.

I always used to have a few in my planted discus tanks back in the day, they will take care of any wispy algae and that BBA. They are peaceful they won't bother your other fish including the discus.

What size tank is this? 125?

It is a 180; to be honest I should have limited it to 6 discus instead of 8; the temperature depends on the species (these are wild caught); i was told by someone i trust that 82 was a good temperature for them; there are species in warmer areas that need 88+.

sae or panda garra might be a good short term solution (temp is a bit warm for both species); i worry the sae might take to sucking slime off the discus. Most of the bba is actually dead but it will take 8 to 12 months for it to realize it. I've had sae before and they are interesting fishes though they can get quite large still i might consider 4 - the problem is once in the aquarium they won't be leaving....
