Wild caught fishes into pets?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've kept some sort of Dace (minnow). Now those are awesome! They look like something you would buy at the petstore... except they're free! I had a school of 8 and they love to swim in the current and eat, pretty much, anything I put in there!

My favorite is a northern pike minnow that is a voracious predator and fast. The second one of my favorites is a small speckled sucker it never hides and is a happy tank resident. Red side shiners are active as giant danios and are willing to eat everything that fits in their mouth. The mad tom catfish will come out in the daytime only to eat and are too nocturnal for good viewing

I currently have a baby blue gill that i've had since it was about a 1/4" fry. hes about 2 now and is a character, i started with three but one was a nutter and the other died. they seem to like the warmer water, i caught him with an aquarium net out of some algae. He is probably the funnest fish i've ever owned he will eat anything and when someone walks my tropical cichlids usually hide and he is at the surface waiting to see what the friendly humans brought to feed him haha. gets it from his parents since he was in a residential pond where people just walk up and throw in worms and bread to watch them eat. i plan on keeping him until he passes because he's probably my favorite fish. he tried to take down a whole earthworm and did take down two rosy red feeders in one day (keep in mind he is only two inches or so haha) the feeders weren't meant for him but he ate them. haha enough ramblin on about my beloved bluegill lol

ive had lmb yellow bass white bass wiper bluegill bullhead channels crappie longnose gar and crayfish right now i have 5 longnose gar and 5 cahhels plus 2 crayfish they rock and they will bite ur fingers also i got 12 greenies hat r bout 1-2 inches long

I had a snapping turlte that was about an inch across when my dad found it. I kept it until its shell was well over a foot. I had to use a stick to distract it when I threw food into its tank.

I had some darters, a log perch and a sculpin all shocked up for a long time. That tank had some serious flow, heh.
