Primarily in Conkel's ponds / vats (and those of his re-sellers') in my experience...

Matt

Funny, I got nothing against the guy (quite the opposite!) but I saw pictures from Rusty Wessel's fish house from this years ACA convention and he had some breeding bartoni covered in lymph. And our LFS that buys fish from him now has lymph all over the place...

Ouch - didn't know that! I've got T. wesseli from him through that LFS...they seem clean.

In all seriousness, lymph is bad stuff and needs to be dealt with. I got some fish awhile back from someone in Florida that developed it in quarantine...which became a permanent tank for the fish with its own siphon, bucket, net, etc.... After other (seemingly non-infected) fish I got from the same spawned and killed the infected ones, I ended up euthanizing the pair and their fry, bleaching the tank and starting over. No bueno!

We have a local discus importer who euthanized over $100K of discus after discovering a nasty disease. Sad stuff!

How serious is lymph in regards to spreading? I read that there are different strains of the virus keeping each strain more prone to spreading to like species?

What is lymph I never heard of it. And I didn't want this to be about bashing on vendors
