You are saying I am not able to FEEL differently than you Del, pretty ugly attitude for someone who thinks they should be a mod.

You just keep doing your Wikipedia look-ups for information, this board should be about experience, not regurgitation of web search information. I appreciate Neal's (Peacock) opinion 100 times more than your Del.:WHOA:

BTW Del if you notice the first part of my post I addressed Neal, not you. So I was not looking for your input, but thanks...............I think:ROFL:

LOOOL

ahh man, give the poor kid a break. Look at his posts... they looks exactly like mine did 4 years ago.. LOL.

Why far fetched?

How do you think we got silvers 20 years ago?

I think 20 years ago the silver arro was a lot more rare than they are today. Look at Tigs, 5 years ago a tig was rare and expensive, now for 80 bucks you have your own tig.

Just my own thoughts, right or wrong................:)

that is how it is with everything.

As the market grows, more people start to collect.

Look at stingrays, 5-8 years ago, it as a HUGE deal to see one, now you can pick them up everywhere..

Del - most of the silver arowanas that we get here in the US are fram bred from southeast asia, not south america.

Your opinoin on the subject has no weight.

Where is your evidence?

Why is my opinion on this subject carry no weight?

Because you are neither an importer, collector, or exporter. You have no experience in the fish industry with Arowana.

Opinion has no room in this thread. We need facts.

Exactly, why do you think the influx of tigs neil? Fishermen's sons are now in on the act? No, because they are hormone bred in captivity.

Can anyone else in the US confirm that in the average LFS an acestro and a hydrolycus are more common than a silver aro? Because in England that's simply not the case.

Neil - yes because that's what the guy that imported them for me told me, isn't that how anyone else knows? Have any of your fish ever come with a certficate Neil specifying what fisherman caught it in which river or what farm it was bred in? Hahahahahha. Besides Asian aros, this is not the case and you know it, yes you have to rely on the importer or exporter for this information.

Also to make things clearer for you, the guy imported these fish for me, just for me, only 1 marulius and 1 silver aro and 1 cuban gar. In Spain people don't keep fish, especially predators. In a LFS here you can't even buy an oscar. This guy who's been selling fish for 7 years in Spain told me in 7 years he's sold under 10 aros, and not 1 snakehead or gar. They are the only channas/gars he's ever imported, and he was quite fascinated with them. So tell me - what would his motive be for lying when I asked where they were from? It's not even like he said, oh yeah they're all wild caught, or they're all captive bred. He said the channa was captive bred and the silver was wild.

Just a little note...since I have access to certain aro farms here I have raised the issue about breeding silvers. Most are reluctant to breed them since compared to breeding asian aros, the returns on silvers are very small comparitively so it's not something they either intend to do (farm breed silvers) or it's only on a very small scale.

this pretty much rebukes all of you.
