Hmmmm I think I'll have a few of those then.. those videos certainly have ignited my interest in these fish.... amazing colors when adult :nilly:

Blood Parrots are the UGLIEST fish alive. :WHOA:

I have 10 grow out Ornatums at the moment. They were purchased around July @ 1.5", they were all comparable in size. I now have a few that are pushing 3", a few a bit smaller and 1 that looks like it hasnt grown at all. They grow just like Festae. I saw that a couple of you said that they bloat very easy. I have to disagree. I have never (knock on wood) seen an Ornatum bloat. Labs, cubans, Hats, bartoni, beani, yes but never Ornatum. They are however very susceptible to internal parasite. They like a lot of water flow and clean water. They also look happier and healthier when the ph is closer to what they are use to, around 6.8. I have mine in a South American tank, with some Geos and a couple Festae grow outs. They are really looking nice, lots of spangling and reds in the fins.

I vote yes on the ornatum and hell no on the blood parrot. :D

And if I could make it down to the Wet Spot this weekend, I would get a few myself. But if your really leaning towards getting some, I wouldnt wait till Sunday, spoke with Travis and he doesnt think that will will last till Saturday.

Assuming this is the place you mentioned. They are having their anniversary sale today through Sunday. :uhoh:

Thanks for the insight, Shawn. I am very intrigued to say the least. Always up for a challenge, the ones that are new to me at least. ;-)

Yes, from Wet Spot. I heard their sale started today and will run through Sunday. Have any idea what the sale actually is?

if you like them why not? Y would it be a waste of time? Raising what you don't have interest in is a waste of time..

I have no idea the extent of the sale and what is on sale. Nobody really would tell me, like its a huge secret. LOL Its to far for me to just show up and see.
