Just wondering but have you tried keeping the Emperor Cichlid?

Yes i have had them, very nice species of fish to own, but eventually got rid of them, never really ever coloured up, i had a largemouth bass, bluegill, and a alligator ghar with them in a 2meter tank. But now iv just got a few frontosa and malawis im breeding, but i got my 2mter tank empty and been cycling it for 2weeks now, an im ready to put my monster fish in, but cant get it anywhere, they are blacklisted here, which makes me want it even more!

Thats how it is here with the Snakehead and the Formosus Arowana.I like to think of the Emperor as the African equivalent of the peacock bass.
