Here they are. Mine had thick black bars and black undersides.

Wow Balton they're a great looking pair, nice photos too!

Trimacs I've spawned in the past did not turn dark until the eggs hatched, once the fry were free swimming they really got dark (like yours) especially the females.

Thanks for sharing, do you still have them?

Way Cool! Thanks for sharing bro! Congrats!!

Nuthman~

Thank you but unfortunately I lost my male and then sold the female to my lfs. They put her in a 2000 gallon showtank where she's doing very well.

Here they were with egg. Small batch but remember they were only 3".

I want to say again that's a fantastic pair of WC's you have Norbert. Take good care of them.

(Hello Mr. Nuthman. Good to see you around.)

Very nice! and considerably darker than mine as you said. You wouldn't happen to remember how long after they layed those eggs they turned dark would you? Or did they darker up prespawn?

Sorry to hear about your male, that sucks.

If I remember correctly they turned dark prespawn and dug that pit around the rock. Did the shimmy-shake thing for a couple of days before laying eggs.

Interesting how they are so different, thanks for the input about yours.

As a side note, I was keeping the temp in this tank in the mid 70s in an attempt to keep the fish from spawning, wanted them to focus more on gaining some size so when I do get around to intentionaly spawning them the size of their brood should be bigger. Unfortunately we've had a little bit of a heat wave around here that pushed the tank up to 80, that set them off very quickly.
