LOL....I have her partially trained. Every time she sees a fish that is either a pbass, or closely resembles a pbass she says, "Brian is that a Cichla temensis?" Sometimes she's actually right! That's some pretty funny shibby right there.

Any girlfriend that knows the term "Cichla Temensis" is worth keeping. Do the Peruvian strains show different markings than those commonly available in the hobby?

Yeah, she's a keeper, LOL.
The Peruvian Cichla are still a mystery to me. I have long disputed the information that C. ocellaris is known from Peru. Some have said that both C. ocellaris and C. monoculus are from there. I still don't know and I should just look it up to be honest.
Some Peruvian Cichla show outstanding orange and red coloration, whiles others are just awfully colorless, or mostly colorless. That's why I got them, they are a nice little mystery
