Wow funny thread. I have to wonder how anyone could even distinguish WC/CB arowana, let alone at this size. I've kept both WC and CB for years and still can barely tell the difference. Anyways I hope you don't mind wasting money, you can purchase 100% WC arowana for the same or less than for farm bred from a reputable vendor. I have not read your previous threads so I have no idea what setup you have, but I hope you are not too selfish and irresponsible to purchase this fish without being able to provide the home it will need. And aros grow FAST.

i can assure you not to worry about providing him with proper home.
curiousity whats triggered me about purchasing this wild silver arowana,it is indeed slightly more expensive the cb arowana, but its nothing like over priced black aro.

i do like silver aro better than black only if i could select with no DE, and i am going to find out myself if the wild will get no DE. basically i am trying to rule out DE comes with gene case.
wild cought=broader gene pool, although i know my wild silve aro is not guaranteed not to have a DE

i do not like buying live stocks over internet, i like to see and hand pick my own, i do not mind the slight premium of a dollar or 10 and plus tax at the cost of not paying S/H and worrying it for 2 days-2 weeks.

Having kept 100% wild caught specimens that did develop DE, I can tell you that they do develop it as well, although the risk may be lower?

I think I may have a wc silver. It's about 18-20" long now with no drop eye. If you dig through my threads, you could find one where I had picked up 2 silvers that came from a 90g tank. One was about 22" and no de, the othe was about 14" with de. They were pretty rough from being not well taken care of so I parted ways with them. A few months later, the larger one developed de in the care of the new owner.

Too dayak, if you say the black isn't worth the price, you've obviously never seen a black and silver in the same tank. My larger silver is almost flawless and my smaller black looks 10x as good.

I got my black arowana for 210 euros and I know fish shops that sell silvers at 100 euros and I am sure that 210 euros is more than worth it for a black. The only problem is that I had to wait 4 years to get one, yes thats right 4 years

that is what you believed, if you read it somewhere i used API product stress zyme+ and stess coat+ from the very beginning.
yes i had problem with nitrite spiked for short of period of time but enough to cause my aro an ick, thats the only fish has the ick in my tank and cured fully within 2 days.
there never ammo spike in there. get the fact straight, i know nitrite caused by ammo and bla bla bla and its more dangerous than ammo but thats not the point.
when first i set it up yes i was fishless for like 24 hours to settle the water i add the api products while doing it and add again when adding fish within hours of each fish.
yes i used the patch from seachem called prime to help me control it.
and what is wrong with using product to help you achieve what you want?
do i have to follow excactly what you ordered me to make you happy?
unfortunetely i do not take order LOL, so be it be and be my guess to be my "guppies".
Im still trying to find out when API stress zyme and coat turned into a tank cycling product LOL. Prime does not "patch" up anything. It bonds with ammonia to form something less harmful so you can do waterchanges to get rid of it. It doesn't help you cycle a tank. To be honest, from what you've shown, you don't even know how a cycle works nor what any of the chemicals you dump into your tank LOL. Im guessing your lack of a heater is also your way of "immunizing" your fish to getting colds. You can keep fish however you like, just don't go killing other people's aros with the genius advice you give.

thats one of reason im interested on the wild cought of having 50-50 chance of not getting DE. with CB the chance is is almost 100% it seems.
different people different stroke, to me black aro is overprice fish and i like silverish/goldish kinda color.
the wild aro tank does have heater in it.
even my big heater has a heater now, due to water temp dropped to 75F, trying my luck with eheim jager 300W which should be good since its rated for the tank size.
this would be my third heater and hopefully the last.

over here at my LFS for comparison 6-8 inch silver sold for 36 bucks while the black for the same size 279 bucks, the baby one 2-3 inch they want 99 bucks it is expensive to me..the good thing is you dont have to wait 4 years to get it:)

latest pic, he eats like a pig which is i like to due her size, she eat anything inlcuding hikari food stick that by sub adult aro refuse to eat lately.
very swift, plays "tag" with mollies, she is about 3 inch now
