Will a Jardini starve itself to death?

My 4"Jar took Food Sticks Pellet in two days and It only like Hard Pellets. Wont even swallow soft sticks. I would try FoodSticks and Crickets, Aro's Love crickets. I would starve and Offer Foating Pellet or Stuffed Sliced Market Shrimp
 
Well I starved it a little more and it has started chewing them at least.

Tried feeding hikari carnivore sticks. Chews it up, breaks the sticks up then spits it out.

Should start accepting them soon?

Yeah, it sounds like you are close to getting him to accept the carnivore sticks. Be careful though. You don't want him to starve himself to death!!! If he doesn't take to them within a few more days, you may want to consider the crickets (as suggested below) or sticking with the beefheart / bloodworms. You can try feeding the carnivore sticks every "other" day till he takes to them.
 
Old thread but did not want to start new. I've starved mine for about 5 weeks and he still will not accept pellets. He is around 20 inches. How much longer should i go before he starves himself to death.

Do you have other fish in the tank eating that food, learning by example and seeing others helps allot of the time , went from 7inches to 20 inches wow

ya thats a bit too long is he starting to look malnourished was eating massivore in my tank for me he was very stocky when you picked him up if I remeber correctly when he went on mini hunger stikes the only thing he would eat were crickets or super worms hope that helps man

Does he pick the pellets and spit them, or not even that?
