just wondering y u make the fish chase the food??

he only eats frozen food. i figure i make it a little entertaining for both the fish and myself.

it keeps him interested in the food i suppose. when he was little when i fist got him he would only eat feeders. then when i started doing this he would eat the frozen stuff.

i don't have to make him work for it now and he will eat it if i just drop it in, but i figure why not?

funny thing is, the female that has been with him for over a year now will eat anything i throw in the tank. i guess he is just pickey.

Depends how they bite. Any big cichlid could draw blood. Especially if get your finger with the teeth in their throat, which is a full bite. Oscars may not do this cause they may be smart and realize your finger isnt food.

and o yeah i let him bite my finger by just putting it in there and he bit it twice but no blood. i have the video but youtube isn't working for me right now :(

he didn't bite it hard, just enough for him to see what it was i suppose.

i want the full on bite! just to see whats up haha.

its good exercise for them to chase food down. i place frozen cubes and pellets in the flow of my spray bar so they have to work just a little harder for it. crickets swim so they create their own predator/prey chase.

it doesnt hurt mate, his teeth will be nothing, you should see my old midas, he is the most aggressive fish ive ever seen including on the internet. (i also own dovii).

when he bites he used to bite he would shread my finger and make it bleed like i had been cut by a stanley knife.
