Will it hurt?

lol you guys are crazy gets some pics up of these crazy mofo fish,

I've been bitten by a few fish...

Those which don't have teeth can't do much damage or cause much pain... unless they somewhat swallow your finger tip. At least some fish have plates in their throats which compress food... or finger tips...

Those which have teeth... the teeth breaking the skin doesn't hurt, at least not any I've owned. But... if they get a good grip and strat thrashing, they can swim away with a lil chunk of you in their mouth. I doubt a 12' Cichlid would be strong enough to literally bite a chunk of meat out of a human, but they can surely break the skin and rip a lil piece off causing a bloody wound...

I barely avoid getting bit by my larger Dempseys or Green Terrors... I dodge the h*ll out of getting bit by my adult Trimac...

he only eats frozen food. i figure i make it a little entertaining for both the fish and myself.

it keeps him interested in the food i suppose. when he was little when i fist got him he would only eat feeders. then when i started doing this he would eat the frozen stuff.

i don't have to make him work for it now and he will eat it if i just drop it in, but i figure why not?

funny thing is, the female that has been with him for over a year now will eat anything i throw in the tank. i guess he is just pickey.

You should consider a strict pellet diet and give other stuff once in a while as a treat.

Where is the video?

it doesnt hurt mate, his teeth will be nothing, you should see my old midas, he is the most aggressive fish ive ever seen including on the internet. (i also own dovii).

when he bites he used to bite he would shread my finger and make it bleed like i had been cut by a stanley knife.

I know what you mean. My old midas tore the skin clean off my knuckle. Had to do a 50% change to get most of the bloody water out.

My oscar gets confused with prawns and fingers, I have not yet let my self get bitten though! I suppose some fish are intending to eat hands and some are actually attacking! :nilly:

Before he lept to his death, my 24 inch silver aro used to attack me any chance he got. If I opened his tank and looked over the lid I had to be careful he was not below because he jumped to bite ANYTHING.

Once, when I thought I had spooked him enough to leave me alone, I had my arm deep in my 210 vacuuming and he struck and bit my forearm. It was not painful but it startled the heck out me.

Anyways, a video of him biting you would be hilarious!

A GT's bite is like that of a babys punch. My severum has bitten me before, I bit him back.
