will my cylinder block pond hold up?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
is this another project that will never be built...
And so what if it never gets build, there's nothing wrong with coming here and discussing ideas about possible future tanks/ponds, or even brain storming ideas with the community to gain ideas and more knowledge about how to assemble one if you ever need to or can afford to

crappy prototype... -gray cylinder blocks : black - iner : blue- water
but what should i stick them all together with? if anything at all? or just in the corners like i said? thanks

If you do use block make sure not to stack them directly on top of each other as shown in your drawing. You need to stagger them ( like a brick wall ) for strength. Also i would recommend "sticking" them together with mortar at the very least. When we build a concrete block wall at work it also has rebar placed verticaly every 16" on center which is every other cell (hole) as well as horizontally every 3' or 4' depending on the height and the load placed upon it. Some walls are completely filled with concrete and others have every other cell filled, again this depends on the load. If the wall is placed on a concrete slab be sure to use mortar to attach the block to the slab as the force of the water is greatest at the bottom of the walls. Hope this helps.

Thanks John it did I will keep that in mind if i ever go gown that road again surprisingly I understood all that.

And if am not mis taken this is the only project I ever been working on that mfk knows of... Other than that all my other project have gone through.

Anyway I cleaned out a 9x9 area in my garage. Final dimensions will be 8x6x3. Pics soon , took me so long to clean it out! When I come back from vacation I will be buying the wood then am really going to need help And advise how to build this thing, I did post some ways how I wanted to do it. Am going to be gone for 6days.when I get back am going rest One day of rest and (already found the wood) buy the wood the next day I plan on building the frame in one day (not rushing just intence hard work) and on my "rest" day ill figure out how to build this.
