Knowing how Thais, (and SEA people in general) fish and eat everything they catch, I would suggest they are going to become rare very soon. I still have only word of mouth for breeding and its all about ITs, not NTTs. As I wrote, here in Bangkok there are too many ITs for me to believe theyre all wild caught. There are not a lot of NTTs and they all tend to be bigger than the tiny ITs, so I would speculate they are wild caught. Its very common for poor folk to put nets across swims in all rivers; they even do it in ponds in Bangkok. They do it for food.
The only other explanation I can think of that would tally with the numbers of ITs is they are harvested from the wild. Possibly they breed in the same areas every year and fishermen catch them before they get eaten by other fish. But that is just my own speculation and as, if not more, unsubstantiated than vendors telling me theyre farm bred.
Personally I have a 205 Gal (60 x 30 footprint), I have one smaller than most RTG, 6 clown loaches and 1 NTT. Im thinking of getting 2 more NTTs to put in my tank.

This season, IT is very abundant and all wild caught. I remember it was about 4-5 years ago where ITs were also abundant, but as far as I remember, this year is the most abundant IT season. I personally keep about 300 babies
But.......considering no known parameter for captive breed and deforestation in borneo and sumatera river bank, it's most likely that IT will have same destiny as ST unless some research are taken to make em breed in captivity

As you may have read from CChassis's thread, the sellors in Thailand are suggesting the small baby indos are "un-natural" / Farmbred. Clearly not the same as Indo, if what you say is true.....
Interesting, as thre are 1000's in the US states, (this is what some members have posted recently.) I presume you are located in the US.
F33, if its not too much trouble, can you ask the guys at your LFS about this list you saw? see what they say? Ask if the Indos are banned from export from Indo, Thailand or from all pacific rim countires.
