Here is my plan for stocking a 55 gallon fish tank. Freshwater.

Black Ghost Knife Fish. 6 inches.

Albino ID Shark. 8 inches.

Fire Eel. 8 inches.

Anything else?

Substrate will be White Silica Sand.

I will either use a Emp. 400 or an AC110. whichever I can find cheaper.

Probably some driftwood and some clay pots.

What do you guys think?

Gets up to a foot and some long; not suitable for a 55g

Albino ID Shark. 8 inches.
gets up to 2.5 feet; not suitable for your tank

Very over stocked. You will need a 300-400g tank at least eventually. That ID shark gets huge.

Thanks fishaddict but I am planning for a 500 gallon tank when I graduate college in four years. Is that two far away. Will they out grow it in 4 years?

:popcorn::popcorn:

Fishaddict.....do you know how long it will take before they will out grow a 55gal tank?

Yeah that's what I'm wondering can they wait in a 55 for 4 years. They have all been in 30ish tanks for the first year or two.

If you are set on that stocklist you should start with an 180 growout instead of a 55. Your fish will outgrow the 55 in less than a year
