Then I tell you you would be fine keeping that BGK in a 55g for over a year, coming from experience, and you say "I guess it's a personal decision.... This thread should be closed."

I'm saying it is now up to me to decide. I am leaning towards getting it but I don't think I should be bothering up the forums with my blubbering mumbo jumbo. Ha. I now have you personal experience to go off of and even the LFS says I can keep it in the 55 for life but I am also leaning towards SW for the 55 so I will just decide when I am done moving the Afras into the 75 and can then work on the 55. I appreciate you input very much but I have moved on to newer more important trains of thought,

A BGK is definitely not fit for a 55g for life though... Your LFS is wrong about that. A year or two for sure, though.
I hope everything works out for you... It's hard to believe it won't with that deal you got.
