Will these LED lights work?

And what is better for the interior coating for the canopy, white latex paint, clear gloss acrylic or polyurethane? The poly won't reflect quite as well as the latex, but it can handle any heat the lights give off better than the latex. I know nothing about how the acrylic will function in regards to reflecting light (I would assume it would be decent as its gloss) and handling heat from the lights.

we used these at work on 18" tall tanks. it provides light but you wont get close to the look of a true led. Personally I would go with T5s over the led strips if a actual led unit is out of the question. I believe in the states you can pick up a beamsworks or beamsworth led fixture quite cheap? people seem to love them and from the pictures they put out decent light.

if your just chasing a low amount of light the led strips will do the job.

I thought as much, but wanted to see what others thought.

Anyone have thoughts on the interior paint/coating for the canopy?
