ok so i heard of you buy salt without iodine in it you can use it for your water instead of buying freshwater aquarium salt. so today i bought mortons salt and it says "this does not contain iodine" on it. but i just wanted to double check before i put it in my tank. Will it be alright?

Aquarium salt isn't that expensive, why not just buy that instead? I think you have to give a different dosage since it's a different kind of salt. Don't quote me on it though.

bump. and i heard from ppl on here that ir would be ok? and the dosage would be the same wouldnt it? anyon else?

as a former african cichlid guy and a current SW afficionado, ime....you can use table salt for your fresh water tanks...no probs. purists can use kosher or solar salt..but really if your on the budget side of aquaria, no prob. use mortons. I just like using the seachem or kent stuff....so i can use the excuse to go to the lfs. he he...
