Will this red texas ever fade ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Are you sure these are Red Texas and not Herichthys carpintis. Faders usually display signs of it very early. I've never seen a fader be normal then all of a sudden fade. It's usually they are showing signs of fading at a young age and then completely fade.

Not true I have rt that faded between 6 to 10 inches and I have had jade dragons and red dragons that were beast and then faded out of no where. The truth is you can never be sure.

Why would you think they're not fading fish I have 1 out of a batch of 4 that has faded 99.9% that why I was asking if they should fade later in life? First time with fish that change or fade like this. Has any one had a fading fish change later than normal? Sorry if this is a rookie question new to hybrid's. but thanks for the help and all help is welcome :)

The truth is with hybrids we are all rookies. Nobody can guarantee anything. Fish fade when they fade. I have bought many infertile fh and bought them home and they fertilize every egg that they come into contact with. That is what makes hybrids great. Every buy is a new adventure.

Meh, I'll get over it lol. I honestly think it's no longer alive.

@ water.... That 1st red Texas is amazing. Not 2 rub it in but I'd be kicking myself if I got rid of that...I'm on Sydney and I've been searching for a red Texas like that for years

LOL It's okay. I have it's brother, and he's fertile so I'm still very pleased with it. Doesn't compare to the other one aesthetics wise, but I like this ones personality a lot more. The other one was rather, timid and didn't really act like a cichlid lol.

Great news my small shred texas dropped all her flowers last night And I mean overnight I will try and post pictures for you when she comes out :D
