Will this work? idea welcome

LOL... I did this about a year ago I see if I can get a picture for you. My set up had a 180 with built in overflows and a 75g for my planted tank. The 75 was back to back with the 180g. so thats the main differance what I did was.

I got an old hang on filter that pushed 300gph drilled holes in the backwith another drop box (DIY), the 75 was at right hight for the drop box to overflow into the 75. I also hooked up 2 powerheads at each side of the 180 linded them to pump into the 75g. The 75 had 2 coner DIY overflow boxes and a canister inlet in the bottom center. The overflows from the 75 went to the sump filtered and went to the 180g. in the 180g overflows, filling up and pouring into the tank and the canister return lines also went into the 180g.

Crazy as anything but it worked so nice. just had to keep an eye on the water level in the 180g.

so try what you can, you be amazed. Just if you want the plantedtank to feed of the 265g you have to get all the water out ofthe 265 to the planted tank and then filter. and dont get jumping fish for either.LOl

ya im planning on blocking the 2 tanks so they can see how green the grass is on the other side.. just what i need my LMB jumping and cleaning out the other planted tank stock.. some time later ill have Hoods for them.

IT works on my pond filter. But that cuz it can all vortex out. I was thinking of making the main chamber of the sump have a slanted bottom so it all goes in one area and just vac it out from there... making cleaning just a little easy.

My pond vac was simple... it never needed clean of the media... just turn on the air line and drain that was all i had to do... attached a pic.i only did 2 chambers. i would love to do this again for my 240 but the smaller blue drum are harder to find now.

I was think of a little more aggressive cleaning...

What are you using for an air supply?

For air ill be using my LifeTech 9820 four outlet.

Thanks...(I used compressed air, but that's a different story :D ).

Got any pix for the rest of the class?

Really no pic to take right now just waiting for everything to come in... Or what did u want a pic of? my pond filter is now my dirty cloth hamper hah

I just got 2 more fish for my tank.... one alb Oscar and a texas both about 10inch. :)

I was just thinking. How should i go about heating? one in each tank? and keep all tanks about 77F? or just have the 240 beeing the heater tank.

Anyone with a HOB overflow...i need to know the size of the box an how much it hang on the out side of the tank. >.<

Bumb for HOB...

Tank was in the store and for some reason was cracked all along the side... hair small.... but about 10inch long... the top trim wasn't on right ( i was able to move it) So they are sending the tank back.

Ive started work on my 60g Sumps... but ran into a problem... The 60g have Bulk holes drilled into them... Would it be ok to just over the hole with Pglass and Silicone around the hole and the square? and put a peace across it to hold it up.

One more thing.. the micro socks.. do they come in sizes? like how big the circle is... cuz i about 4 inch i was going to drill into to make the holder circle for them... ill post some pic/idea tomorrow. thanks

Bummer on the tank.

To patch the holes, the patch material needs to be the same material as the tank. If it is an acrylic tank, then plexi will work (just a brand name for acrylic). Silicone does not adhere well to plastics.

Glass for glass? this tank was picked up used... and its glass... Ill pic up some peace tomorrow but i have never worked on cutting glass... :x so im going to get them as small as passable.
