I very carefully use Windex on occassion but only after having wiped off the serious crud with a wet rag. I have two granddaughters and 2 dogs so i get alot of snot marks on my tanks. On my Acryllic tank I use a acryllic cleaner thats "specially made" for acryllic tanks.

Yeah, either aim it down or spray it on a rag first...lol. Pure ammonia works just as good though, although its smells so strong, its 'less' harmful to the fish if it gets in the tank.
just like oddball said i spray it on a towel i all ways spray it in another room i never spray stuff around my tanks
i use windex directly on the glass every week after i do a WC. been using it for years and never had any issues. people must get a little excited with the bottle if youre killing your fish
then you should have told everyone living with you that windex is no good its a good thing to let others know that a common household item can kill your fish if its not used on the tank properly but alot of people use windex on their tanks but they dont spray directly on the tank. its best to spray on a towle and then clean the tank off
