I just mounted the lights in my DIY canopy. However everytime I turn them off I blow the circuit breaker. What did I do wrong? I am using 14x2 wire. Is the load to heavy going to the socket?

it would seem that you aren't really turning them off, you're shorting it and the circuit breaker curs off power. try resetting the circuit breaker when your lights are still on "off" position and let us know what happens.

Your switch is causing a short circut which is tripping the circut breaker. Can you give me a quick diagram of your wiring? What type of switch are you using?

Need to see how you wired it.

Im not good at drawing but see is you can follow this. The light bar is mounted and I ran wire to an on off switch black to black white to white ground set on the grounding screw of the light fixture and the on off switch. Then i ran a line to a 3 prong electrical plug that gets plugged into the power strip. if the lights (on the canopy) are on everything is fine. Turn the switch on the lights off and the circuit blows.
