Wisper vs AC

i would have to say you just got unlucky. ive had many filters and my top choices would be AC's and marineland's penguin or emperor bio-wheels, great bio filtration(thats when talking about hobs only)

p.s. wisper filters are cheap for a reason, low quality

Whispers are horrible. I've had nothing but problems. I can't even keep a 10 gallon hex clean with a whisper

I'm sticking with AC and Emperors. Those are the only 2 that I've found to work well. AC70 is definitely my favorite to use.

I seem to love my Whisper 30-60. I bought mine at Wal*Mart for $34.97 USD. It is reliable, silent, and the cartridges are cheap. I also like Aqua Clear.

Oh, and AC sucks!! They are the most cheaply made piece of $hit I have ever used. They are loud, brittle, and mine spilled gallons of water on the floor due to the overflow not being big enough. Total crap!!

You do know that "AC" and "Aqua Clear" are the same thing, right?

I like the overall design, but I have had problems with mine overflowing on the floor. It has a pretty good filtering ability, but when compared to my Whisper, AC SUCKS!!! If I had to buy an AC because they quit manufacturing all other brands, then I would just to keep my fish alive. I would never prefer an AC to anyone. If they made an overflow for when maintenance gets delayed, then sure. Sometimes there just isn't enough time in the week to clean my inserts.

the only HOB's i will buy are AC's.
by far the best quality for your buck, mine are dead silent (except waterfall),
never had a problem with any of them.
