I am surprised that no one has sworn off drinking after that kind of story. Ya you did what the majority of us would have done, but what about all you who get so smashed you don't remember how you got into the back of a civic resting on the baby seat? I would be worried that if I did that even semi regular bases I would be worried about getting my head blown off.
Ya the guy was 40, bet he was drinking for a LONG time! 20+ years maybe?

Yea take no chances. Not everyone is out to kill you, but id rather be the one kiling than being killed. Some of you need to wake up and realize peoples wifes and children are being raped and slaughtered every day. I would never take that chance, and boy that guy is lucky he didn't get some slugs in him like stated earlier. This is a cruel world and your property is your safe house. Keep it that way. Glad you guys are okay once again, but the pacifist thing is going to get some killed. Then they can make excuses at the funeral. " He was only trying to be civil to the intruder!"

Absolutely! If the drunk guy would have had a gun too, atleast we would have been protected

I am a contradiction...... I am more for peacful approach on a more global scale.... but on the local scale... you touch my stuff and I will kick your head off.... I dont have a gun but I wouldnt mind having one around for protection. I think you did the right thing, thats what I would have done.

I knew it was time to quit drinking when I got hauled in on a warrant while drunk one day. The warrant was issued after I failed to respond to a previous ticket written to me for public drunkenness, which I was too drunk to remember receiving. Months later, it was a double whammy. My friends told me they saw police talking to me months ago, the time I walked all the way home barefoot. The lights came on a little, then, and I knew I was wandering into trouble. I haven't had a drink in about four years now. Oddly enough, I haven't been arrested during the past four years either. Amazing. I still have a nagging feeling that I'm a deuche-bag in some way, but I'm getting better as a person as I age. So the risk of me ending up on your couch has been greatly reduced. You're welcome.
