Hes actually selling a pair of them right now I believe the male is over 20" and the fem isn't far behind

pbass have the record i believe, im pretty sure there was a recorded 40" pbass which puts it there. i know it was 27 lbs. i dont know what that translates into length

Dude, they are the largest cichlid. Go find pics of emperor cichlids, then go look at peacock bass. See the difference in weight? Pbass are so much bulkier.

This reminds me of the arguement about the world's 'largest' snake ...

The longer retic python or the heavier anaconda ...

Do we go with the longer Emperor, the heavier Tem or do we figure out some complex mathmatical formula to give both length and weight equal parameters and thus can compare?

Or concede it's a silly arguement, drop 'largest' from the vocabulary, and either use 'longest' or 'heaviest' ...
