wolf fish info

Not wanting to dampen your enthusiasm at all but you shouldn't plagiarise other sites- if you're going to copy and paste information at least reference the location you copied it from.

Secondly, care tips are subjective but i would say in most of those instances that at the very least, the tank sizes are wrong. For example, the Hoplerythrinus U. gets to 16" so how is a tank 18" wide suitable?

thirdly, that is 100% not a Hoplerythrinus and the site you took the information from on the species clearly shows a pic of a Gold wolf, all be it a baby one.

Species Name:
Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus

Minimum Tank Size
It's not a particularly active species...

And there is the prime reason why simply copy and pasteing is a bad idea- clearly the original writer has never kept the Gold Wolf because they are easily the most active of all wolf species.

This was only to get the COMMON info so people could get an Idea, I'll try to put together real ones for Common Wolves, Red and Rainbow Wolves, Gold Wolves, and Black Wolves but I'm going to need some help here.

I read that the red/rainbow wolf looses its nice coloring as it gets older, is this because they are feeding it the wrong food, or is this unavoidable?

The body usually loses it's coloration while the fins keep it. From what I've seen it's natural.

I would honestly recommend looking at what people have already done first. Search function is your friend...

ok like he said abov it is olny for genral refrence and not a science class jeeze

:duh:

Who said it was a science lesson? The OP was requesting information regarding keeping Hoplias/Ery/Hoplery in the aquaria. We can all go around spouting rubbish and believe inaccurate/ludicrous information or we can post accurate information from those who have experience keeping these fish.

There is no science involved, just common sense.

im not saying that it can have bogus info but it souned like you were being a little bit rude and rash but ya if any one wants to help them go for it
