Wow this thread is still going? I think it would depend on the two fish and you can't really generalize which species would come out on top. There are always stories of my wolf ate my snakehead and my snakehead ate my wolf. Just look at this old thread from a good guy on these forums KRS http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34484&highlight=krs&page=5

You have it spot on I have had them both and as I said at the start my red nailed my wolf but as jelly said I think its down to the first bite its still a very macabre thing I hate it when a fish you have had for a long time ether turns on tank mates or in turn gets merced.

They are equally tough fish the greatest story I can tell you of this was a friend of mine had a very large red over 2 1//2 ft he put a very large wolf in the tank with it the SH bit its tail section clean off the wolf was still swimming and when he was removed form the tank to be put down still nearly had my friends fingers off.

they are very tough, for some reason my cousin put my 4" red high fin wolf in with my 13-14" midas that bit its tail off, he said it lived for a couple of days, he was taking care of my fish while I was on vacation.

Alright, who would win? Fullgrown snakehead (whatever species), fullgrown hoplias aimara, or fullgrown artc?

hahahaha, that supposed 5 foot snake head is in front of a 5 foot 5 inch man. LOL, that fish is huge though, don't get me wrong, but 5 foot it is not. More like high 3's. Plus 7-10 foot snakeheads that can break legs with a whip of the tail, come on guys. Folklore aside, reds are beast that can get up to 4 to 5 feet possibly and are very aggressive with the muscle and teeth to back the attitude. I would go with a Snakehead, as long as the Wolf doesn't have a chance to grab the snakehead first....basically, strike first win, miss a chance and lose.

Well, here's a link to an aimara. What do you think now.... A big red doesn't have anything on this fish. I'd have to put my money on the aimara. I love SH, they're my favorite fish, but I don't like to EXAGGERATE about how they can grow up to 10ft and break people's legs. Or even 6ft or even 5ft. Until we get proof of an actual Red being 5ft plus, all the stories about it seem... fake. Folklore. And also, their hunting methods would have to be taken into consideration. Aimara's an ambush predator, and with dentition and jaws like that, it would be hard for any fish to swim away alive.
