Update: Finally got him to eat the frozen smelt from the top of the tank by dangling it in there. Took about 10 minutes but he finally gave in and snagged it from me. I'm curious though, how often should I be feeding my wolf? As often as he wishes? Or should he be put on a specific time schedule for feadings? thx

With his size of 14inches he would be fine eating about 3 times a week. Young fish require daily feedings but in his case about 3-4 times a week would be ok. And Im glad u got him on prepared foods. Is he active at night time or still sitting around...?

My wolf actually tells me when he's hungry: He swims along the front of the tank when he sees me approach the tank, or he waits in a specific spot. If he's not hungry, he stays put, resting on his driftwood. Then I can dangle food in front of his nose and he won't attack. Feeding is irregular, sometimes it's daily or twice a day, sometimes he fasts for a week. Most of the time he eats at night, sometimes he asks for food before I go to work in the morning.

Study your wolf, and he will tell you. They're great pets!
